Independent software studio · Est. 2015
Software that pulls its weight.
small tools that earn their keep.
Metric Ton is a small, independent software studio. We build focused apps for everyday problems — the kind of tools we wanted to exist, so we made them. Each one is designed to be useful, understandable, and worth keeping around.
No dark patterns. No growth theater. We’d rather ship something solid and stick with it than chase attention.

How we work (A few beliefs.)
Not a manifesto. Just the rules we try to keep when we ship.
-
Earn their keep
An app should solve a real problem often enough that you’d miss it. If it doesn’t, we don’t ship it.
-
No dark patterns
No tricks to keep you scrolling, no guilt to keep you subscribed. Clear choices, quiet defaults.
-
The long game
We’d rather maintain something for years than flip a feature for a quarter. Independence buys that patience.
-
Serious, not precious
Care about the craft. Don’t get precious about the product. Show up, do the job, get out of the way.
